A group of teachers at the Freshman Center were notified by the Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation that their grant application was approved.  The grant, in the amount of  $4,735.00, will provide the resources for the creation of a vegetable garden.  Teachers can incorporate the garden into classroom lessons centered on planning the layout of the garden, projecting its yield, and predicting the effect of weather patterns on the crops.

Now in its 11th year of helping build better schools and communities, the Lowe's Toolbox for Education program has provided over $49 million to more than 11,000 schools across the country.
