Masters in Special Education- Collaborative Approach to Training Transition Specialists  (CATTS Program)

The 2016-2017 school year will be my 4th year at Smiths Station Freshman Center. I look forward to meeting all of the incoming 9th graders in August!

I have been a resident of Lee County since 2008. I came to Auburn University in the fall of 2008 to pursue a degree in Special Education. During my tenure in Lee County, I have been employed as a Therapeutic Program Assistant with the City of Auburn-Parks and Recreation since 2010. I have also been employed at the Auburn Transition Leadership since 2011 as an A/V Specialist and Graduate Assistant. I continue to assist in some capacity at both institutions.

As an educator, I have compiled over 500+ Hours of practica/internship experience in Lee County Schools.

  • Loachapoka Elementary- Spring 2011
  • Beauregard High School- Spring 2012
  • Smiths Station High School- Fall 2012
  • Beauregard Elementary- Spring 2013

My Primary interests include transition and practical job placements for students with disabilities. I ensure that your child will leave the Freshmen Center with an idea of realistic career interests, and a path for which to follow until graduation.

I believe that all goals can be achieved by following three simple rules, that also align with the goals of my classroom. These rules (HARP) are:

  • Honesty
  • Accountability
  • Responsibility
  • Pride
