Bio

Lived most of my life in the Columbus, Phenix City, and Smiths area. Graduated from Glenwood High School in 1980. Joined the National Guard in 1982 and married Leane Barnes in 1984. Graduated from Troy University with a B.S. in Business and worked in the lending business for 14 years. I have four children. Blake my oldest graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in MIS and from CSU with an M.S. in Computer Science. He is married to Lacey Greene Skinner and he now owns a computer programing business called Sharpcove. Eric graduated from Columbus State University in the Exercise Science Program. He is currently a student at West Alabama working on his masters in Physical Education. Eric is married to Britleigh Butler Skinner and he is working at Central High School in the Special education area. He also coaches football and baseball at Cental. Kalyn is a 2008 graduate of Smiths Station and is an ICU RN at EAMC. Kalyn graduated from Southern Unions RN program and has recently earned her BSN from Auburn University Montgomery. Currently she is a student in the Nurse Practitioner program at Auburn University.  Marc is a 2013 graduate of Smiths Station, and he is in his second year of college at Troy State University where he plays baseball on scholarship. I am thankful that I am still married to Leane Barnes Skinner who is a Professor at Auburn University. We have been married for 30 years. In December 2007, I graduated with a Master's Degree in technology from CSU in Columbus, Georgia, and I have an M.ED in Business Education from Auburn University. Currently I am in my 14th year of teaching and coaching. This year will be my 10th year with Lee County. In May 2013 I earned my AA certificated from Auburn in the Business Education area.
